The collared sauim is a small primate from the Amazon with a restricted geographic distribution. Due to urban growth, it has been suffering from habitat loss and is considered endangered. It lives in small groups where there is a single female that reproduces and coordinates the group's activities. Interactions between members of the same group are generally peaceful, therefore, they perform many vocalizations to coordinate their activities, as well as defend their territories.
