DITHONGO, TRITONGO AND HIATO ACTIVITIES

Activities about the vowel encounters, diphthong, tritongue and hiatus for the 3rd, 4th and 5th year.

Diphthong it is the meeting of a vowel and a semivowel (and vice versa) in the same syllable. The decreasing diphthong is the sequential meeting of a vowel with a semivowel, the increasing diphthong of the semivowel and the vowel.

Examples:

1. History → historywas going
   1. was going, semivowel (i) with vowel (The).
2. Vanity → vthere-da-de
   1. there, vowel (The) with semivowel (i).

Triphthong it is the meeting of a vowel permeated by two semivowels in the same syllable.

Examples:

1. Equals → i-gWows
   1. Wow, a semivowel (u), followed by vowel (The), followed by a semivowel (i).

Hiato is the meeting of two vowels in different syllables.

Examples:

1. Noise → ru–í-of
   1. u and i, two vowels in different syllables.
