The list of films selected for the 55th Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro, which will take place in the federal capital between the 14th and 20th of November, has been released. Almost 1,200 films were entered in what is the longest-running festival in the country to compete in the feature and short film categories of the national and Brasília competitive exhibitions.
Twelve short films and six feature films were selected for the National Competitive Screening. The festival will also have 12 films, composing parallel exhibitions.
According to the organizers, the 2022 edition is focused “on returning to the environment of face-to-face exhibitions and in the reconstruction of Brazilian audiovisual policies”, and has as artistic director the producer Sara Rock.
The films will compete for around 30 Candango trophies. “Aiming to expand the window of films in competition and maintaining the historical mark of 6 national features and 12 short films, the Festival de Brasília starts work with the National Competitive Exhibition on the opening night”, informs the organization of the festival.
