Another great event shook the city. And the entire Rua do Sol participated in the same strange agitation. Parents colluded. Neighbors fraternized. It was necessary to watch the children, watch them, prevent them from remaining on the street. Death could come unexpectedly, dragging them along. The first automobile was circulating. It was something unexpected, that walked by itself, like a train, but without a locomotive. Nothing remembered the donkey cable cars that rolled noisily through the streets.
