The sequential song emitted by the barn owl (Glaucidium brasilianum) is perhaps one of the most attractive to most birds, or rather feared. Where there is caburé, it is a sign of danger for the walkway. The reason is simple, despite its small size, the owlet is a predator and hunter par excellence.
Therefore, it is not uncommon to see different species of birds coming together to attack the owl when it is present in the environment. The species is widely distributed throughout Brazil and bears the mark of our territory in its scientific name, although it also occurs in other countries.
There are those who confuse the harpy owl with a slightly smaller relative, the harpy owl (Glaucidium minutissimum). If in the visual aspect both are similar, in the voice it is possible to differentiate one species from the other.
