Once upon a time, far away where the wind bends, there lived a prince who had no army. He had everything he needed to live happily, minus an army that could protect him. Every night, he went to bed in fear that an enemy would attack and destroy the palace.
Early one morning, he woke up to the sound of mysterious music. He looked out the window and saw an old snake charmer playing the flute at his gates. Curious, he invited him in and, with his natural hospitality, treated him like a respected guest. The snake charmer wanted to return his courtesy and offered him everything he had, a snake!
The honest prince thought that he would not use a snake, he was quite afraid of snakes, but he politely accepted the gift. He fed and cared for her as best he could.
As the days passed, he noticed that she grew more and more. One night, he discovered that the snake had stretched itself through the palace gates. That night, the enemy attacked! They dashed up the path to the palace and hurled themselves against the gates. However, the big snake finished them off in no time!
She then returned to the palace to take one last look at the prince and returned to the snake charmer. Never again did the enemy dare attack the prince!
