Chico Simões created Mamulengo Presepada, in the 1980s, after traveling around the Northeast working and interacting with masters of popular and traditional cultures linked to the Popular Theater of Bonecos. He developed a set of principles, techniques, philosophy and method, which he titled “The Secret Art of Mamulengo”, which serves as the basis of his work to this day.
