Nora the fox was very friendly, but also conceited. She thought she was the best at everything, and if someone said she knew how to do something, she said she could do it even better.
“I'm the best cook in the forest, I'm the fastest of all animals, and no one is smarter than I am,” she said smugly.
“One day, Nora, you'll find someone better than you at something,” said the owl.
“I highly doubt that will happen,” Nora said.
One day, a new resident arrived in the forest: a well-invoked hare. She came in saying that she could do everything the animals could imagine, and Nora didn't like it one bit. So the fox challenged the hare to a race.
The animals gathered to watch the contest, and the hare won handily from Nora.
- Didn't I say that one day you would find someone better than you? - said the owl.
After that day, Nora recognized that you can't be the best at everything.
