Although they have solitary habits, some species of these animals can form large groups to move around and devour everything in front of them. And they don't do it in silence, as they usually produce a sound resulting from the friction between the legs with the wings or the wings beating each other.
It is on the stout hind legs that they acquire the ability to leap, a common trait among grasshoppers, crickets and hopes. Unlike their “colleagues”, however, grasshoppers have short antennae, eardrums, a pair of auditory organs, in the first segment of the abdomen and its organ for depositing eggs is also smaller.
