– It was not easy to break the egg. Ufa! My name is Plic and I am now a chick. The first thing I saw was Mama Chicken. Then I started to follow her, as well as the other chicks. I was so hungry that I tried to catch a caterpillar. But she hid in a little hole. Then I found out that I can't go far from Mama Chicken: there are too many dangers around here. The other day, the duck ran after me, but the rooster defended me. What luck!
And the kitten almost got me! I ran out under Mom's wings. How hungry! Mother Chicken eats corn. But I'm small, so I eat corn bran. At night, we all slept together, near a lamp, to keep warm.
