In a great kingdom, at the dawn of a new day, a beautiful princess was also born, whom they named Diana.
Three fairy godmothers were invited for the christening: Flora, Fauna and Primavera.
During the festivities, Flora bestowed on the princess the gift of beauty; Fauna, that of music. And when the fairy Primavera approached the crib, to make her offer as well, she was suddenly overtaken by the Maleficent witch, whom no one had invited. Then the witch cast a spell:
– When you turn sixteen, you will poke yourself in the spindle of a spindle and you will die!
And with a huge laugh, she disappeared into thin air.
Terrified, the kings begged Spring to break the spell.
- I have no powers for that, I can only make it softer - replied the fairy.
And, approaching the princess, she said to him:
– You will not die… You will sleep deeply, until a kiss of love awakens you!
The years passed, and Diana grew into a beautiful young woman, living in the woods, always under the watchful care of the three fairies. On her sixteenth birthday, the fairies took her to the castle, to her parents.
She was blown away! She went through all the wards and, in one of them, found an old woman (the Evil Witch in disguise!) Who was spinning a spinning wheel and asked her for help. Diana, good as she was, couldn't say no. But as soon as it touched the distaff, it stung, and fell to the ground, deeply, asleep.
When the three fairies, who had already returned to the forest, learned of what had happened, they decided to enchant the castle. Everyone fell asleep where they were, the king, the musicians, the courtiers, the servants, even the jester, the maids and the knights! Time seemed to have stopped.
After about a hundred years; one day, a handsome prince, who was hunting, happened to pass through the forest and saw the castle. Intrigued by not seeing anyone, he decided to enter.
In the highest tower, the beautiful princess slept.
When he found Diana, the prince, marveling at the girl's so beautiful and kind air, he kissed her with all his love.
Immediately, the Evil Witch's spell ended, and Diana woke up! As well as the king the queen and the entire court. Joy returned to the castle, with great celebrations, music and dancing everywhere.
The prince asked Diana to marry him. It was the biggest wedding ever. The prince and princess were very happy. Happy forever.
