In Ancient Egypt, the cat was honored and extolled, being regarded as a holy animal. At the same time, the cat became the representation of the Goddess Bastet, female of the god Sol Rá. […] In Europe, the cat developed with the Roman conquests. He was admired for his beauty and dual personality (either an independent savage or a sweet and affable animal), and appreciated even in the 11th century when the black rat invaded Europe. In the 13th century, superstitions developed and the cat went from being a adored creature to an infernal one, associated with pagan cults and witchcraft. The church turned its back on him. […] In the 18th century, he returned majestic and in perfect accord with poets, painters and writers who pay homage to the grace and beauty of his body.
