Defender of nature, the Curupira lives in the Brazilian forests, has red hair and feet turned backwards. Its name has a Tupi-Guarani origin and its function is to scare away everyone who wants to destroy the forests. To fulfill its mission, it emits frightening sounds and whistles. It is very difficult to find him, because when he walks, his footprints mark the opposite path he is taking.
