The next time you get a minor cut and you don't have antiseptic around, run to the kitchen cupboard. Scientists at Penn State University in Pennsylvania have found that honey (the same one you eat with yogurt and oats) acts as a barrier against possible infections caused by cutting. In addition to preventing the formation of bacteria, it accelerates the healing process. Wash the cut well, smear it with a little honey and cover it with gauze. Repeat three times.
