Andréa Maciel Pachá (Petrópolis, 01/04/1964) is a judge, graduated in Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She participated in a dramaturgy group, worked with cinema and theater. She lived in Rio until 1993, when she returned to Petrópolis. As a member of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), she created the National Adoption Registry and the Commission for Conciliation and Access to Justice. She also promoted campaigns to simplify the language used in the processes, fighting the “legalese”. For her work at CNJ, she received in 2010 the Bertha Lutz Diploma. She has articles published in national newspapers and specialized magazines.
