Read:
A fire threatens the friends of the river's floodplain, and the fearless koala sets out to rescue them. From the author of "The Man Who Loved Boxes", a story of compassion and hope.
Inspired by community actions in the face of the devastating bushfires in the Australian summer of 2019 and 2020, the Award-winning author and illustrator Stephen Michael King creates this tender, universal work that brings hope in difficult times.
Full of courage, the koala sails down the river in search of his friends trapped by the fire. The jumping rat, the wombat, the dog, the kangaroo and many other animals had to flee the flames and smoke because they saw their home threatened. The koala's boat is quite small, but the animals work together, build a raft, and find a way to make room in the boats to accommodate everyone.
With sweetness and lyricism, the koala ark draws attention to environmental catastrophes resulting from human actions and shows the importance of solidarity and cooperation to face them.
