the language Klingon, from the classic franchise, Star Trek, even won a dictionary, with 2,000 entries and 800,000 copies sold. The language appeared in 1984 in Star Trek III: Searching for Spock. Later, linguist Marc Okrand was hired for the series New generation with the mission to develop a syntactic and lexical structure for the language.
To get an idea of the repercussion of the Klingon among fans of the series, an institute was created based on the work of Okrand – the Klingon Language Institute (www.kli.org) –, which has 600 members, dialogues in extraterrestrial language and even translations of literary classics.
