The grains that make up the rocks can be of various sizes. And, in order to be able to separate and name the rocks, they are divided according to their sizes.
Everyone has heard, for example, about sand or clay. Few, however, know what _________ words really mean - and will be surprised at what let's reveal it now: they are used only to designate the sizes of the grains that make up a rock.
To call a clay sediment, it must be formed of very small grains, practically invisible, if we do not use magnifying glasses or microscopic ones. After all, just to give you an idea, a millimeter is the measurement found when we divide a centimeter into ten pieces (one centimeter = 10 millimeters). And many grains are much smaller than that.
