The Brazilian population actively participated in the creation of the Federal Constitution of 1988. The Constituent Assembly received thousands of letters, with popular bills, since there was such a possibility. On TV, a daily bulletin, which aired for nearly 600 days, reported what was being voted on. As a matter of fact, the work of formulating a constitution has never been so publicized and so transparent in Brazil as that of the Citizen Constitution. _______ set of laws was not something done in secret, in a closed way, by deputies and senators. On the contrary: the press followed everything closely and society was aware of what was happening. People went to the galleries to follow the votes, forming one of the most beautiful moments in our country's recent history.
