Often called the Imperial City due to its history with Brazil, Petrópolis has a mild climate, historic buildings and abundant vegetation.
Located in the Serrana region of Rio de Janeiro, it is 65 km from the capital of Rio de Janeiro and attracts many tourists mainly in search of culture and entertainment.
Capital of the state for 9 years, Petrópolis housed the first railway road in the country, linking Porto de Mauá to Imperial Fábrica de Cerveja Nacional, the first brewery in the country.
The refreshing atmosphere and a fog that slightly covers the city, give Petrópolis a peculiar climate, very suitable for visits, especially for couples. Due to these qualities, the city has the most exquisite in terms of hospitality and gastronomy.
Vale dos Gourmets, located in the district of Itaipava, concentrates sophisticated restaurants, trendy bars and nightclubs, as well as an elegant regional commerce and delicious inns.
The city has magnificent historical buildings such as the Cathedral of São Pedro de Alcântara, the Sagrado Coração de Jesus Church, the breathtaking Yellow and Yellow Palaces. de Cristal, the Municipal Theatre, the Princess Isabel's House, among numerous other buildings and works of art that report the entire extensive and striking biography of the City.
