Watermelon may have beneficial substances to treat erectile dysfunction; understand

O summer in our tropical country it is still a long way off, but this tip is valid for any season: watermelon has become a very popular fruit due to its refreshing and juicy flavor, especially in warmer seasons.

However, in addition to being a delicious option to beat the heat, researchers have discovered that watermelon may have similar properties to the viagra, a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction.

Watermelon has minerals like magnesium and potassium that help lower blood pressure. In addition, it contains citrulline, an amino acid that increases nitric oxide levels in the body and contributes to the expansion of blood vessels.

The presence of lycopene in the fruit also helps in controlling bad cholesterol. These benefits are related to the reduction of the risk of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks.

Consuming watermelon regularly, when combined with a balanced diet and physical activity, can be beneficial for heart health. From this effect, another “problem” of the organism can be helped.

The “natural viagra effect” of watermelon

As mentioned above, the watermelon it also contains a substance called citrulline, which is able to relax blood vessels.

This is because, when consumed, this compound is converted into arginine, an amino acid that increases the production of nitric oxide, a substance responsible for relaxing blood vessels.

This effect is similar to that caused by Viagra, which also works to relax blood vessels to treat erectile dysfunction.

However, it is important to note that citrulline is present in greater concentration in watermelon rind, which makes it more difficult to fully enjoy its benefits.

Scientists are studying the possibility of developing watermelon varieties with a higher concentration of citrulline in the pulp.

The director of the Center for Fruit and Vegetable Improvement at Texas A&M University, Bhimu Patil, highlighted the natural benefits provided by watermelon. He stated that it is a great way to relax blood vessels without the side effects of medications.

However, it is important to point out that scientific evidence on the effects of watermelon on erectile function is limited and more research is needed to confirm these claims.

In addition, Viagra is a controlled and regulated drug, while watermelon is a natural food, the effects of which may vary from person to person.

Therefore, if you are experiencing erectile dysfunction issues or other sexual health related concerns, it is essential to seek proper medical advice.

Health professionals can offer expert advice and prescribe safe and effective treatments to deal with these conditions.
