The cars that are called by the acronym in English SUV are "Sport Utility Vehicle", which in Portuguese would be something like "sport utility vehicle". Larger cars with more space inside are considered SUV models. In addition, they have the possibility to take roads inside and outside the city with more comfort.
Considered the second generation of Tucson, the iX35 was very successful in Brazil in the first decade of the 2000s, where it maintained its sales for a long time. In addition to this model, the New Tucson, considered the third generation of this model, much more refined and agile, was more famous abroad than in Brazil, and therefore many considered it an “unjustified” model by here.
Thus, after this discontinuation, it is possible to say that the iX35 will not have a continued version here, with the new generation model of the Hyundai Creta serving its clientele. However, the New Tucson must return to circulate through the streets with the hybrid version that, if confirmed, will be launched in 2022.
This Tucson hybrid model will feature the same 1.6 turbo engine, but combined with an electric propellant that will guarantee a power of 230 hp and 35.7 kgf/m of torque, with the presence of six gears in a gearbox automatic. In addition, its fuel consumption will be very advantageous, at 17.5 km/l.
