The father was trying to read the newspaper, but the young son kept harassing him. Already tired of it, he tore off a sheet – which showed the map of the world – cut it into several pieces, and handed it to his son.
“There, there's something for you to do. I just gave you a map of the world, and I want to see if you can put it together exactly as it is.”
He went back to reading his newspaper, knowing it would keep the boy busy for the rest of the day.
Fifteen minutes later, however, the boy returned with the map.
“Has your mother been teaching you geography?” the father asked, bewildered.
“I don't even know what that is,” the boy replied. “It turns out that on the other side of the page was a portrait of a man. And, once I managed to rebuild man, I also reconstructed the world”.
