Tarsila do Amaral was a great and important Brazilian painter and draughtsman.
Who doesn't know Tarsila's famous work of art “O Abaporu”.
The artist joined the modernist movement and was linked with special interest to the issue of Brazilianness.
The main features of his works:
– Use of bright colors
– Influence of Cubism (use of geometric shapes)
– Approach to social, everyday and landscape themes in Brazil
– Non-standard aesthetics (influence of surrealism in the anthropophagic phase)
