Digital skills refer to skills, knowledge and competencies that enable individuals to effectively use digital technologies and tools. Some digital skills are basic computer literacy, coding and programming, marketing and data analysis.
Luciana Lutaif, director of Accenture's talent and organization practice, said that to build a career in the coming years, you need to have digital skills.
“We see a movement in which companies, universities and schools will have to train people for another type of work, which involves a combination of man and machine”, she said.
A Salesforce survey showed that only 28% of workers worldwide are actively involved in learn digital skills, with 76% of them feeling that they do not have the necessary resources to develop these skills.
The tip is: if your employer offers courses or platforms where you can train in digital skills, try to take advantage of these resources.
Adriano Almeida, COO and co-founder of Grupo Alura, a technology education company, said that it is important for professionals to take the lead in developing their digital skills.
“You don't need your employer's support to develop yourself and put your knowledge into practice, but you need to learn something that makes sense in your day-to-day work,” he said.
