They say I'm a pretty cat, brindle, with a ball face and pointy ears, green eyes and a short muzzle […]
I live outside an apartment building called Jatobá. Not on the street, like a beggar, but not inside, like a real resident.
Licking my foot, thinking hard, I came to the conclusion that I am a community cat.
It's as if I were a square: I belong to everyone and at the same time to no one.
Not to be ungrateful, I must admit that sometimes everyone takes care of me, even too much.

There are Sundays when I almost die from eating, as everyone in the building remembers to offer me the leftovers from their beautiful table.
It's a festival! It has fish, chicken, ham, meat and pasta of all kinds. I eat until I'm stuffed, and then I'm so sick that I can only walk against the walls so I don't fall.
On the other hand, there are days when the residents, each trusting that their neighbor will take care of my lunch, end up forgetting about me.
In this case, I go back to leaning against the walls, but it's from hunger and weakness.
