This Friday (3), the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) announced that it will punish companies telemarketing who use robots for calls lasting less than 3 seconds. According to the agency, more than 100,000 such calls are made daily and the measure will be valid for three months. During these 90 days, Anatel will be able to identify users of telecommunication services considered to be offenders and identify whether their approaches are abusive or not.

The agency's measure is part of a series of offenses against abusive telemarketing conduct. Now, with the precautionary measure, the intensive use of the operators' resources to making massive calls is considered improper. Even these companies can receive punishments of up to R$ 50 million.
Who has never received a call from an unknown number, usually from a different "ddd", and after answering it, the call drops? Well, it is exactly the use of this type of dialing that will be punished. For this, in addition to duration time, the volume of dials greater than human capacity will also be taken into account.
In general, companies run these automated calls as a kind of test between people. This is because, if the user answers, the system registers that this individual usually accepts calls from unknown numbers. Thus, a database of records is created so that agencies can call and offer different services.
First of all, Anatel communicated that in the next 10 days, operators must send a list of users that were generated in the last 30 days. Afterwards, they must block calls originating from these companies, as there will be a suspension of 15 days. In this way, the fine against robocall can reach up to BRL 50 million
If companies are interested in removing this restriction, it is necessary to sign a commitment with Anatel to refrain from these practices. After committing, they will no longer be able to activate new numbers for companies contracting the services.
