Have you ever wondered what the other galaxies that are scattered throughout outer space are like? There are thousands! And they are very far from us… Or almost!
Last Monday, July 10, NASA released a video showing about 5,000 galaxies with images captured by the telescope. James Webb. The images are part of the Cosmic Evolution Early Release Science (Ceers) survey.

One of the attention-grabbing details in the video – in addition, of course, to the number of galaxies – is the fact that the images are in three dimensions. This shows the power of the supertelescope.
This shows that the machine is capable of making very deep observations of the universe.
The video is a journey to Maisie's Galaxy, one of the first brightest in the Universe and which is 200 million light years from Earth. Believe me, it's a lot of ground (or rather, a lot of emptiness) to cover.
With each second of the images, you can see that the appearance of the galaxies is changing. This has an explanation: the galaxies that are most distant from us are from very distant times and, possibly, less developed than ours.
Maisie is estimated to have formed 390 billion years ago after the Big Bang explosion. That is, there are more or less 13.4 billion years.
I imagine you must be grimacing trying to put this many numbers into something tangible. But you can continue with the reading, there is no way to measure such a long passage of time.
Because it's one of the first galaxies bright and very distant as seen by the James Webb Telescope.
“We couldn't study galaxies like Maisie's before, because we couldn't see them. Now, not only are we able to find them in our images, we can also find out what they are made of and how they differ. of the galaxies that we see close by", pointed out Rebecca Larson, from the Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, New York, in the USA.
Enough with the terms and numbers, let's get to the pictures. But first, important information: although the video only shows 5,000 galaxies, it is estimated that this space shown has about 100,000 galaxies. Let's go now:
