In an interview with the Daily Mail, US billionaire John Catsimatidis said that young people in generation Z, born between 1995 and 2010, are wasting a lot of time on social networks, especially in the TikTok.
For Catsimatidis, this lost time should be being invested in work and studies, with a view to forming a successful career.

“That's one of the problems we're facing in our country these days, kids are busy playing TikTok,” he said.
John Catsimatidis owns, among other things, a sprawling New York supermarket chain, Gristedes Food, which is now valued at about $4.1 billion, according to Forbes.
During the interview, the rich man said that in his youth he worked 70 hours a week. According to him, the person responsible for this behavior was his mother, who “forced” him to start working after he graduated from school. “I was ready to sleep on the couch all summer and watch television,” he joked.
After being “kicked off the couch”, John went to work at a supermarket that was close to his house. Some time later he bought the supermarket where he worked and turned it into the Gristedes Food empire.
It is no longer today that the famous generation Z has been questioned by employers, successful entrepreneurs and spokespersons for large companies, especially in the United States.
In 2022, Whole Foods co-founder John Mackey said that "GenZrs" seem to "not like to work". In the same vein, PayPal's Keith Rabois said that some workers born between 1995 and 2010 have irritated her by "pretending to work".
Faced with denials like this, John Catsimatidis used part of his interview with the Daily Mail to advise young people from generation Z.
The tycoon categorically stated that the only way out to success is hard work. “The harder you work, the easier it gets to win,” he nailed it.
John also said that those who look for shortcuts to work less will fail in this attempt. “Look at people who only work three days a week and I'll show you flaws,” he said.
Finally, before finalizing his speech, John Catsimatidis was adamant in stating that to have real success in life finance there are three secrets: hire people smarter than you, get a good education, and stay away from problems.
