Samsung introduced the user-repair program in mid-2022 in the US, later expanding it to South Korea, the company's home country.
This solution is now being extended to European nations such as Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. But there is still no forecast for arrival in South America.
In addition to the latest smartphones in the line
galaxy, the program covers all notebooks in the Galaxy Book Pro family. For now, an expansion forecast for other devices of the brand has not been disclosed. The parts used in the replacement are available for purchase by the South Korean company itself, guaranteeing the certified quality of the items.
The step-by-step is provided through explanatory videos, created by brand professionals, with the aim of guiding the user through the process.
With the program, it is possible to carry out several exchanges in the cell phones, such as screen, battery, USB-C port and back cover. In the case of notebooks, the housing, battery, keyboard, biometric reader and rubber feet can be replaced.
In addition to spare parts, Samsung offers the option of purchasing a tool kit to be used during the repair. Currently, the set costs 30 euros, about 160 reais.
This value is added to that of the part purchased, for example: a back for the Galaxy S20 costs 50 euros, so the total would be 80 euros (ask for more tools), below average value for the same repair done by an assistance technique.
The program is expected to be available in Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom by the end of the month.
