They disappeared in September and were found a month later.
Three cows that had been taken away by Hurricane Dorian – which hit the Bahamas, Canada and the United States in September – were found after several days. One was located a day after it disappeared, but the other two were not found until October.
The cows had been carried away by a wave of about 3 meters, which is twice the average height of 12-year-olds. Therefore, it is believed that they had to swim until they reached a region of isolated islands, where they were found. The place is 13 km (distance that an adult takes about four hours to walk) from where they live.
As about 3 kilometers of the path can only be crossed by boat or by swimming, it is known that at least that distance they covered by swimming.
They have been identified as being from Cedar Island in the United States, but it has not yet been possible to find out who owns them. The authorities on the island where the cows were found are looking for the owners, who, after being located, will have 30 days to think about how the _________ animals are transported back.
