After six years without readjustments, the PNAE finally received the money to invest in feeding millions of students. It is estimated that, in 2023, around BRL 5.5 billion will be allocated to improving the school feedingof 40 million public school students in the country.
According to surveys, 70% of students are in primary or secondary education. For them, the adjustment represented 39%. As for those who are part of pre-school, indigenous and quilombola schools, the increase was 35%. Finally, for the other modalities, this percentage was 28%.
Another important point highlighted by the MEC was the initiative to complete several works in schools that are paralyzed across the country.
Incentive for food actions
The National Fund for the Development of Education (FNDE) informed about the launch of another edition on the incentive and, consequently, the practice of education actions to feed and nutrition in school settings.
These actions consider the importance of an adequate and healthy diet to prevent Child obesity.
The indigenous people also received special care, as five workshops were offered with a view to Family Farming.
Finally, details of the Sustainable School Feeding Network (Raes) Meeting were released, with the presence of representatives from several countries who shared topics on good eating practices and their importance in the lives of each child and youth.
