The Mega-Sena draw, launched in March 1996, is one of the main types of betting carried out by Caixa Econômica Federal.
Its draws take place twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, in addition, it also has the holding a special draw at the end of the year, the famous Mega-Sena at the turn of the year, which has existed since 2008.
To win the grand prize, the ticket must match the sequence of the six numbers drawn – thus guaranteeing a seven. However, it is also possible to win smaller prizes by matching the sequence of five (quinine) or four (quadra) numbers.
When purchasing a ticket, the player can choose 6 numbers or more, but the greater the number of tens in a ticket, the more expensive it is, after all, the greater the chances of winning. However, the largest number of numbers that can be bet is 15.
If no one hits the top prize next Wednesday, the value will be accumulated again for the next draw, Saturday, according to the prize range. Saturday's draw is expected to have an accumulated value of R$ 22 million.
Ticket prices have been adjusted since April.
To purchase a ticket with six tens, the player must spend R$5.00 and go to one of the thousands of lottery outlets spread throughout Brazil.
It is also possible to bet over the internet, just access the Caixa's Lottery Portal or the Loteria Caixa application on any compatible smartphone.
