According to the news published in the UK's Independent newspaper, the creator of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, reignited the controversies linked to her position on transphobia. During the launch of The Witch Trials podcast on March 14, the author did not fail to comment on the controversy surrounding her name in regards to the transgender movement.
However, when commenting on the trans movement, J.K. Rowling has stated that she has come to fear for her personal safety and that of her family. On the other hand, she also stated that many fans of the saga were happy with her position and then issued a controversial opinion.
When compared to Death Eaters, characters from her books, J.K. Rowling has said that they advocate the destruction of anyone who stands in their way and thinks differently than they do. For her, Death Eaters dehumanize and demonize anyone who thinks differently from them.
At that moment, she says that she fights against a movement that bears resemblance to the Death Eaters, who do not accept different opinions. For her, it is a misogynistic campaign with great support from important parts of society.
The speech did not go unnoticed by a fan, who feels angry and hurt. According to the fan, the positioning of J.K. Rowling contributes to disenfranchisement, humiliation and embarrassment against the trans community in society.
