Bone is made up of living cells, some blood vessels, and a lot of minerals and other substances.
You may have heard an adult tell you to drink milk, because milk has calcium, and calcium is good for the bones. But, did you know that there are other foods that are much richer in calcium than dairy products? They are plants with dark green leaves (kale, spinach, etc.) and nuts (nuts, almonds, etc).
These and other foods provide our bodies with calcium salts that make bones stiff, meaning that they become very resistant. In addition, bone also serves as a store of calcium for our entire body to use.
