Read the excerpt from the book

"What We Should Know About the Moon"

written by Luiz Fernandes:

The Moon is our closest neighbor in space. It looks bigger and brighter than the stars, but it's actually much smaller. It looks bigger because it's so much closer to us than any planet.

The Moon moves around the Earth as the Earth moves around the Sun.

People have always been interested in the Moon, but in the past they didn't have the means to study the Moon. They just looked at her and wondered. So, the telescope was invented. Scientists were able to study the Moon through telescopes and discovered many things.

A few years ago, rockets were sent to the moon. Some of these rockets sent photographs of there to Earth. So scientists were able to discover a lot about the Moon.
