The Brazilian film “Tito and the birds”, directed by Gustavo Steinberg, Gabriel Bitar and André Catoto, is among the 25 short-listed to compete for the Oscar for Best Animated Film. The list, which also includes “Small Foot” and “The Incredibles 2”, was released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, known as the Hollywood Academy, on October 24th.
The film premiered in June, at the Annecy Festival, in France. The film still doesn't have a date to open in theaters.
“Tito and the birds” tells the story of Tito, a shy 10-year-old boy who, along with his father, needs find a cure for a disease that is contracted after a person has a scare—and which is becoming a Epidemic.
The list with the five finalists in the category will come out on January 22, 2019, and the award will take place on February 24 of next year, in Los Angeles, in the United States.
