"Agnes Grey"

English literature fans will delight in another masterpiece from the Brontë sisters collection: Agnes Gray, by Anne Brontë. Published in 1850, the novel goes beyond the Victorian Era with its realistic theme. The youngest of the Brontë family is not far behind her other writing sisters, Charlotte and Emily, in creating a protagonist willing to face the social conventions of the time and establish herself as a brave and self-possessed woman, unlike many romantic girls from then. The work narrates the trajectory of Agnes, governess of families from the English aristocratic class, her struggles, questions and, of course, her relationship with love. A must-read reading for those in love with the other Brontë sisters and with English literary production.
