Property owners in rural and urban areas remain attentive through the positioning of the Federal Court of Justice (STF). The decision taken by Minister Luís Roberto Barroso made it difficult to recover properties that are still occupied by tenants, even if they are in default.

The initial decision came at the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, when the National Council of Justice (CNJ) prevented the judges responsible for the case from evicting the families during the pandemic period. At that moment, the action demonstrated a need for urgency, since many workers lost their jobs.
The difference is that we left the pandemic and the STF's guidance remains the same, preventing eviction and repossession from being carried out. According to the Capitalist website, this has been a concern for homeowners.
The decision gained a new chapter in April 2021, when the responsible minister advised that no was necessary and that it would continue the prohibition of the act of eviction, removal or reintegration of possession. This was a valid measure for rural and urban furniture, valid for six months of that same year.
After the end of the period, in October, a new prohibition law was established only for urban properties in these conditions. In 2022, therefore, another episode of the saga was released, when Barroso also suspended the action for properties in the rural area.
The minister extended it for the first time in 2021 until March 31, 2022, then evaluated the third decision, still in 2022, prohibiting the eviction, and so far the case has not been concluded. The owners of these areas expect the reintegration of property rights and that the courts work to mediate the entire situation.
So far, the case continues without further updates and without a deadline for the reinstatement to be, in fact, completed for the owners.
