Research involving coffee

Modern research suggests that there are several health benefits linked to coffee consumption. One of the research highlights the discovery that the natural components of coffee can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. Or else, this drink can help keep the liver healthier and, with that, reduce inflammation in the organ, also reducing the chances of diseases such as kidney disease.

However, when it comes to hydration, this topic raises many doubts in people, as well as in scholars. Therefore, the time has come to shed some light on this topic in this article.

Is coffee able to hydrate our body or not?

Although coffee works as a mild diuretic, i.e. it cleans the kidneys and eliminates bad fluids for the body, it doesn't actually lead to dehydration. This is due to the fact that you are also consuming the liquids in the coffee while you drink it.

It is completely acceptable that coffee consumption helps to offset the daily need for water, as the body naturally absorbs the liquid you need and excretes the excess. This amount will vary based on circumstances, but according to the Institute of Medicine, it's generally recommended to drink 11 to 13 cups of water every day.

The findings of a recent study came to the conclusion that both water and coffee with low levels of caffeine were sources of hydration. However, coffee with high levels of caffeine had a short-term diuretic effect. So if you love drinking coffee, know that this liquid can be included in the necessary water bill per day. However, it is worth noting that it is not recommended to drink coffee in excess to avoid other processes that can be negative for the body.
