The carpenter imagines a piece of furniture, makes the drawing with measurements, cuts wood, gives it the shape he imagined and then assembles, varnishes and polishes the piece of furniture he has built. He admires the work he accomplished with his creative work. He has a result that gives you satisfaction, even if it doesn't give you many millions in cash a month. The bus conductor, on the other hand, sits all day, doesn't talk to anyone, barely looks at people, just takes the money and gives change for 8 hours a day. In the end, he is depressed and tired of doing this repetitive, monotonous work. Not many millions in cash would be enough to pay for such thankless work.
A worker on the television assembly line puts a little piece in a device that is immediately transported by the assembly conveyor to another worker, who puts another piece, and so on against. And one day passes: a device, a piece, another device, another piece, month after month, year after year.
This is how millions of people all over the world work today: no taste, no joy, no pleasure. So it is no exaggeration to say that the modern world, with its technology, has taken from most human beings something they need and enjoy: creative work, which gives pleasure.
Those who do what they like while working feel little difference between work and leisure. In this case, work is good for health.
Whoever does what he hates is all the time looking at the clock and time does not pass; anxiously awaits the last workday of the week and gets irritated when the return to work approaches; he dreams of a vacation and, more than anything, he dreams of winning the lottery to do just what he likes. With so much suffering, working ends up being bad for your health.
The dream of most young people is to find a job that makes a lot of money, but that is not enough. Work must be pleasurable. Work done against one's will cause discouragement, self-doubt, boredom, sadness. This negative state of mind ends up creating illnesses and losing health is not worth any money in the world.
