NAME:
Read:
A very strange frog appeared in the hills of India. For starters, he's purple (“creeedo!”). It is three centimeters and has a pointed muzzle. The head is a little small for the body, so the animal looks more like a gooey purple blob (“Creedo!”) than a living thing. And weirder than that just his name:
nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis (But this expletive name actually means something quite simple – “Sahyadri mountain frog”). The frog can be ugly, but for its discoverers, it is the most beautiful animal in the world. The mountain frog is a living fossil from 130 million years ago. His ancestors lived in the time of the dinosaurs, so the purple frog is very important to understand how his family's amphibians evolved. So… Nasika is beautiful!Available in: .
