The poems in this book sing about the things of the countryside: scarecrow, cattleman, ox, calf, horse, flowers, bees, corral, sheep, pitanga, corn, forest and the feast of St. John. It's as if Ruth Rocha picked up a country guitar and started rhyming under the moonlight of the hinterland. It's beautiful. And it touches deep in our hearts.
