A fly saw a snake sleeping on top of a pile of wood and helpful as always, it immediately warned her.
– O snake owner, run away from there because someone is coming to fetch the firewood and if you sell it there, you can kill it.
The snake followed the advice and hurriedly ducked into a mouse hole. The latter, seeing the snake entering his house, gave a shriek and ran out of breath through the emergency exit. Outside, he bumped into the leg of the pheasant, who nervously began to scream. The sleeping monkey, when he heard the shouting, jumped so big that a branch fell on top of the head of an elephant that was passing under the tree at that moment.
The elephant, terrified, came out crushing everything in front of him and ended up stepping on the bird's nest ntietie. This bird, whose feathers are as red as fire, was so angry that it set fire to the plain.
The deer, which passed by nearby, burned its paws and ran towards the river to cool off. He was so scared that he forgot to shout, as he always did, to warn the women in the village, who were bathing in the river, to get dressed.
They ran away and complained to the village chief.
The deer was then called to explain. He apologized and because the blame on the bird ntietie. The village chief sent for the bird and it defended itself by accusing the elephant. And so on, all the animals involved in the mess had to present themselves to the enraged village chief to justify themselves.
Until it was the turn of the fly that wanted to do something well by warning the snake and ended up failing. The village chief called the council of elders to hear the case, and she was forgiven.
