It is increasingly common to look for meatless recipes or ways to save money while shopping at the market. To try to soften this reality, we've put together some ways to make everyday protein yield a little more, check it out:
1. Store meat correctly
Before trying to make meat work in recipes, you need to know the best way to store the proteins to avoid waste.
When arriving from the market, freeze the meat that will not be used at that time, so that they do not spoil and consequently you have to throw them away.
Also, separate the meats into bags for portions for each person in your family, so you'll know how much protein you have for the month.
2. Try to buy ground or shredded beef
The good thing about ground meats is that you can calculate exactly how much meat each person will consume, which helps to avoid leftovers.
Unlike large cuts like steaks, smaller meats, ground or shredded, can be divided more quickly and for more people.
So, give preference to ground beef or sausage, and also to shredded chicken.
3. Try serving other foods with the meat.
Adding other ingredients in the preparation of meats is not good just for giving different tastes and textures to the proteins. This is also good for increasing the volume of meat portions served in each dish.
Red meat goes well with tomato sauce, chopped carrots, chopped cabbage, chard and also with rice.
White meats, on the other hand, usually combine more with peas, corn and softer vegetables.
4. Use meat beaters
If you prefer to continue eating meat with steaks or large pieces, you can try choosing less noble meats to save money.
However, these meats are often tougher, which can be difficult to eat or cut. Then, use the meat beater to tenderize the meats and with that you can create great recipes.
