Medicine is divided into several specialties, but doctors, in only two types: those who treat the disease and those who treat the patient. The Doctor. J.J. Camargo is a representative of the second group. To do so, he listens to his patients and hugs them from time to time – or is surprised by a hug. It can be a hug of comfort, gratitude, comfort: the hug says what the words often omit.
International reference in thoracic surgery and author of the first lung transplant in Latin America, dr. J.J. Camargo, in these more than sixty chronicles, illuminates the more human side of medicine, which is often left aside in favor of an alleged objective treatment of diseases.
