To tell you the truth, we are a well of expectations, whether in professional, family, personal or loving. At all times we are creating and destroying expectations, however, like anything else, if we create too much expectations, we end up frustrated and suffering (often due to problems that we we created!).
Therefore, we have listed 5 thoughts that may be a sign that you create too many expectations:
“My partner will always make me happy”
No one has a duty to make you happy all the time, after all, we are human beings and are you serious? We can be wrong all the time. Placing that responsibility on someone else is, to say the least, irresponsible.
“My partner will never let me down”
When dealing with other people with different personalities, it is obvious that at some point emotions Negatives will appear, precisely because we are different, with different ideals and different thoughts.
“My partner will always prove me right”
In truth no. Even though you are together, you are still different people. And having opposing opinions shows that you preach for the particularity of each one. Y ' all don't have to agree all the time and it's ok.
“My relationship is perfect”
Every relationship has its phases, it all depends on how you deal with uncomfortable situations. In the end, what matters is what you do to stay well and happy.
“My partner is always there for me”
This is one of the most common expectations. Your partner has a life outside of you. He works, studies, has friends and a family. Wanting him to pay attention and be with you 24 hours a day is unrealistic and not healthy at all.
