Bendengó is a meteorite that was found in the Bahian hinterland, in 1784, next to a river, a tributary of the Vaza-Barris, which became known as the Bendengó River.
The weight of this meteorite is 5 tons and its name, of indigenous origin, means, among the quiriris Indians of Bahia, coming from heaven.
At the site of the fall of Bendengó, there are even today debris and splinters of stone coming from the sky. And the event remained in the memory of all the inhabitants of the region, thanks in part to the string literature, which told the whole story.
