The SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation is a non-governmental organization created in 1986. It is a non-profit private entity whose mission is to promote the conservation of the biological and cultural diversity of the Atlantic Forest Biome and ecosystems under its influence, stimulating actions for sustainable development, as well as promoting education and knowledge about the Atlantic Forest, mobilizing, training and encouraging the exercise of citizenship social and environmental.
The entity develops environmental conservation projects, data production, mapping and monitoring of the Biome's forest cover, campaigns, strategies for action in the area of public policies, environmental education and forest restoration programs, volunteering, sustainable development and protection and management of ecosystems.
