China plans to send astronauts to the moon before the year 2030. The announcement was made through a government official on the 29th of May, on the eve of a launch by the country's space agency.

Deputy Director of the China Manned Space Agency, Lin Xiqiang, confirmed the country's goal through a press conference. However, a specific date for the event has not yet been determined.
According to Lin, the country is preparing for a "short stay on the lunar surface and joint human-robotic exploration". “We have a complete human near-Earth space station and a human round-trip transportation system,” he added.
The Chinese space agency also presented to the public the astronauts who will be sent to its space station in orbit in a launch scheduled for Tuesday, 5/30.
On this occasion, the Shenzhou-16 spacecraft will transport three astronauts — including a civilian — to the Tiangong space station.
The trio to be launched to the edge of the ship briefly overlaps with the three astronauts who have lived at the station for the last six months conducting experiments and assembling equipment inside and outside the vehicle.
NASA also announced a plan to put people on the moon again. The Artemis program is expected to send astronauts by the end of 2025.
On the other hand, in 2019, the China became the first country to land a probe on the far side of the moon.
It seems that space will again be a field to be explored more and more by the great powers and will be a milestone in their global influence.
